The
Margarethe Krupp
Foundation

Around 3,100 apartments and over 60 commercial units on 65 hectares of land: The Margarethe Krupp Foundation is probably Essen’s best-known landlord. Since its establishment in 1906 by Margarethe Krupp, the foundation has been a reliable authority for its tenants.

The Margarethe Krupp Foundation is an independent real estate company and active in many fields. Whether residential or commercial space – everyone is welcome. We are well-positioned and focus on private and commercial housing in Essen.

For more than 100 years we have been combining private and municipal involvement – possibly unique in the German housing industry. When Margarethe Krupp established the foundation in 1906, a success story began that continues to this day.

Today, the Margarethe Krupp Foundation manages around 3,100 residential units in 935 houses (including 420 single-family homes) and over 60 commercial units (medical practices, restaurants, retail, hotel, kindergartens and other businesses) on Margarethenhöhe.

Our
guiding
principle

The Margarethe Krupp Foundation stands for the rental of contemporary living in the countryside with very good infrastructure near the city of Essen.

The garden city concept has been an integral part of the Margarethenhöhe and can still be felt everywhere today.

This applies not only to the listed part (protection of 1,157 residential units in 586 buildings on November 12, 1987) of the district named after Margarethe Krupp but also to the other construction sections bordering on the Grugapark or the forest area surrounding the Margarethenhöhe.

We are strong in implementation, consistent and yet innovative, credible and customer-oriented.

In summary, the maxim of our trade is:
“Preserve and Develop”

We are proud to be an essential part of Margarethenhöhe and gladly accept this responsibility.
